SUP is the fastest-growing water sport on Lake Como, and for good reason: the water in the morning is flat as glass, standing on a board you see the bottom and the fish, and after ten minutes of practice anyone can paddle. The classic area is the central lake — Bellagio, Varenna, Lenno with the view of Villa del Balbianello — sheltered from the northern wind. Rentals start at around €15 per hour, lessons from €40, and guided sunrise and sunset tours from €50. You pay on the spot; we reserve boards, instructor or guide for you on WhatsApp.

How it works
Tell us where you're staying and what you want: simple rental, a lesson, or a guided tour. We point you to the right spot — the central lake is best for beginners, the northern lake (Domaso, Dervio) is windier and better for experienced paddlers or the electric SUP tours. For rentals you just show up, sign, and paddle; lessons and tours start on time, so arrive 15 minutes early. You pay the centre directly.
What's included — and what to bring
Rental always includes board, paddle and life jacket. Lessons and tours include the instructor or guide, all equipment and, on tours, photo stops at the most scenic points. Bring swimwear, sunscreen, a hat, water, and something to keep your phone dry (most centres lend a dry bag). You will probably fall in at least once — that's part of the fun, and the lake is warm from June to September.
Who it's worth it for — and who should skip it
Worth it for almost everyone: couples, families (kids from ~8 on their own board, younger ones ride on a parent's board), and anyone who wants the lake at its quietest — early morning SUP before the boats start is the best hour of the day on Lake Como. Skip it or reschedule on windy afternoons: when the Breva picks up from the north, paddling in the central lake becomes hard work.
